Attack against the sub-prefect of Huamanga César del Solar

The PCP-SL attacked the sub-prefect of Huamanga, César del Solar, who was shot four times just two blocks from the Ninth Command of the Civil Guard. This attack was part of a series of actions by the PCP-SL during December 1982 which showed that the situation in Ayacucho had become unmanageable for the police.
