On December 6, 1982, the PCP-SL attacked the police post in the district of Anco in Churcampa, as part of a series of harassments against police installations in the region.

On December 6, 1982, PCP-SL militants attacked the police post in the district of Anco in the province of Churcampa. This attack was part of a series of harassments of police posts that increased at the end of 1982 in the provinces of Tayacaja and Churcampa. The attacks were aimed at putting an end to the "old order" and forcing the withdrawal of local authorities. This event took place in the context of the proselytizing work of the PCP-SL which had expanded from the province of Huanta to the districts of Churcampa.
