First popular trial in Sancos against Alejandro Marquina
First popular trial of the PCP-SL in Sancos where the justice of the peace Alejandro Marquina was executed.
The PCP-SL carried out the first popular trial in Sancos against the justice of the peace and teacher Alejandro Marquina. The militants took Marquina out of their homes along with William Molina, Cesario Sumari's wife and another community member. They were brought in with their hands tied, blindfolded and their mouths stuffed with absorbent cotton. They accused Marquina of being abusive, exploitative and a womanizer, and shot him in the temple. This event deeply traumatized the population, which had never before witnessed a public assassination.
