Attack on the Superior Court of Justice and Radio Onda Azul
Attack by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso against the Superior Court of Justice of Puno and the Onda Azul radio antenna, belonging to the Catholic Church, in August 1982. It was part of a series of initial attacks against state and church institutions in the department of Puno.
In August 1982, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso carried out attacks against institutions linked to the Catholic Church in the city of Puno. The targets were the Superior Court of Justice of Puno and the antenna of Onda Azul radio station, both belonging to the Catholic Church. This attack was part of a series of initial actions by the PCP-SL in the department of Puno, which were characterized by dynamite attacks against institutions and representatives of the State, especially against buildings belonging to the Bishopric. Radio Onda Azul was a radio station belonging to the Bishopric of Puno and was one of the main targets of Shining Path attacks against the Church in the region during this initial period of the internal armed conflict.
