Incursion to the locality of Paras

On July 6, 1982, the Shining Path raided the town of Paras, Cangallo, as part of their strategy to take over villages and harass authorities. This event was part of the 1982 Shining Path offensive to consolidate their territorial control in the area.

On July 6, 1982, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso raided the town of Paras, in the province of Cangallo. This event took place in the context of a series of raids on villages and harassment of authorities that characterized the Shining Path's strategy during that year. The incursion to Paras occurred days after the seizure of the towns of Chuschi and Canchacancha on July 2, and was followed by the assault on the Huancapi prison on September 8. These actions were part of the PCP-SL offensive to expel the police from rural areas and consolidate its territorial control through the establishment of Popular Committees and Liberated Zones.
