MRTA carries out first bank robbery in La Victoria, militant Jorge Talledo Feria dies
On May 31, the MRTA carried out its first seizure in the agency of the Banco de Credito de La Victoria with the purpose of obtaining money to finance its future activities. It obtained 10 million soles, but one of its members, Jorge Talledo Feria, a psychology graduate from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, died during the raid. This was the first public operation of the MRTA.
