Bank robbery where Jorge Talledo Feria died, first emerretista killed in action
Five MRTA subversives, including Víctor Polay Campos and Jorge Talledo Feria, robbed a bank in the district of La Victoria. When two of the subversives tried to immobilize the policeman guarding the bank, he fired his submachine gun. One of the bullets ricocheted on the floor and mortally wounded Talledo Feria, first emerretista and member of the Central Committee killed in action. His death caused the first desertions in the MRTA ranks.
