Arrest and assassination of authorities in Andarapa
In February 1982, three communal authorities of Andarapa were detained and later murdered by members of the Civil Guard, as part of the police repression against alleged members of the PCP-SL.
In February 1982, in the town of Andarapa, three community authorities were detained by members of the Civil Guard. Later, these authorities were assassinated by the same police. This occurred in the context of an intensification of police repression in the province of Andahuaylas, which resulted in the detention of countless peasants accused of belonging to the PCP-SL. The police arrests were accompanied by looting and theft of peasants' belongings, who were imprisoned, and in some cases even killed or disappeared.
