MIR-VR Convention in Shapaja

MIR-VR convention held in Shapaja in 1982 where a group of Miristas was elected to take on new and greater responsibilities within the organization. Those selected were divided by zones to expand the movement's area of influence in San Martin.

The MIR-VR organized a convention in the locality of Shapaja during 1982, shortly after having carried out a political-military doctrinal school in the zone of Alto Shanusi in January of that year. In this convention, a group of Miristas who had fulfilled the function of recruiting new militants were chosen to be entrusted with new and greater responsibilities within the organization. The people selected at this convention assumed new responsibilities and were divided by zones in order to have a greater area of influence in San Martin. This convention was part of the process of organizational consolidation of the MIR-VR in the department of San Martin, after having established its Departmental Directorate in 1981.
