Execution of Ninabamba and Mollebamba peasants by PCP-SL
The PCP-Sendero Luminoso executed several peasants in Ninabamba and Mollebamba in 1982 in retaliation for the capture of five of its members by law enforcement forces.
In 1982, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso executed several peasants from the communities of Ninabamba and Mollebamba in retaliation. This action was a direct response to the capture of five members of Sendero Luminoso by law enforcement and ronderos in the area. Those captured had been transferred and five of them subsequently died in the 1986 riot. The executions were part of the pattern of violence and reprisals that characterized the internal armed conflict in the Oreja de Perro area during the early 1980s.
