PCP-SL presence in Chiquintirca and Anchihuay
At the end of 1982, the PCP-SL entered the communities of Chiquintirca and Anchihuay in Chungui. When the local authorities refused to collaborate with the new Shining Path commissars, assassinations began and the population began to flee.
At the end of 1982, members of the PCP-SL from Chapi, San Miguel, arrived in the communities of Chiquintirca and Anchihuay, in Chungui. Initially, the population accepted their presence. However, when the authorities refused to collaborate and leave their place to the new Shining Path commissioners, the murders began and the population began to flee. This situation generated the beginning of a resistance process that would later lead to the organization of the community members against the PCP-SL in 1983.
