Interior Minister José María de la Jara resigns after death of Aprista student

Resignation of José María de la Jara y Ureta as Minister of the Interior. The death of the aprista student Antonio Ayerbe Flores in Cuzco motivated his resignation on his own initiative. In his letter of resignation, he recalled that in the performance of his duties he tried to adhere to the constitutional precepts, the laws of the Republic and the unrestricted fulfillment of Human Rights. He was replaced by Lieutenant General FAP (r) José Gagliardi Schiaffino, which marked a shift towards a tougher position.
