Complaint against Edmundo Cox Beuzeville

Edmundo Cox Beuzeville was denounced on April 26, 1981 as responsible for 27 attacks in the city of Sicuani and the province of Canchis. Cox was a mathematics teacher who carried out agitation and propaganda work for the PCP-SL in the high provinces of Cuzco.

Edmundo Cox Beuzeville, a mathematics teacher who had come from the district of San Anton in Azángaro, Puno, was denounced and later captured by the police in 1981. He was accused of 27 attacks in the city of Sicuani and the province of Canchis, including an attack on the Communal Educational Center of Tinta on November 9, 1980, considered the first public action of the PCP-SL in the area. Cox Beuzeville had arrived in the high provinces of Cuzco to carry out agitation, propaganda and political training for the PCP-SL. A year after his capture, Julio Tineo, a university student from San Marcos who had arrived in Cuzco to take Edmundo Cox's place, was arrested.
