Peruvian Army clears Ecuadorian troops from Falso Paquisha, negotiations begin
Conflict with Ecuador. In just a few days, Peruvian Army commandos dislodged Ecuadorian troops who had entered Peruvian territory and had created a false guard post, called Falso Paquisha by the Peruvian government. Two military missions meet in the border town of Huaquillas to initiate the negotiation phase of the conflict, the objective of which was to avoid a declaration of war.
