Armed incursions in Villa El Salvador
Between 1981 and 1986 there were relatively limited armed incursions by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in Villa El Salvador, targeting the police station, banks, electrical towers and government entities. From 1987 onwards, the strategy changed towards establishing a more organic presence in the district.
Between 1981 and 1986, a relatively small number of armed incursions by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso were recorded in Villa El Salvador. These actions were directed against government entities, the district's only police station, banks and electricity towers. The incursions were part of the initial phase of the Shining Path's presence in the district, characterized by sabotage actions against state and economic infrastructure. Beginning in 1987, the PCP-SL began to seek to establish a more organic presence in VES, changing its strategy from sporadic raids to more systematic organizational work.
