Attacks on Juli Bishopric
In 1981, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso attacked with dynamite the IER Palermo and the headquarters of the Bishopric of Juli in the province of Chucuito, Puno. These were part of the first attacks by the PCP-SL in the south of Puno, directed especially against institutions of the Catholic Church.
In 1981, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso carried out dynamite attacks against the Bishopric of Juli in the province of Chucuito, Aymara zone of the department of Puno. The attacks were specifically directed against the IER Palermo and the Bishopric itself. These attacks were part of the initial actions of the PCP-SL in the south of the department of Puno, characterized by attacks against institutions and representatives of the State, but especially against the Catholic Church. In August 1982, the attacks against Church institutions continued, including an attack against the antenna of Onda Azul radio station, also belonging to the Catholic Church in Puno.
