Murder of Benigno Medina and Ricardo Lizarbe in Fundo Ayzarca
PCP-SL murders farm manager and employee after publicly torturing them
Benigno Medina, administrator of a 48-hectare farm, was killed along with Ricardo Lizarbe, a 19-year-old employee, after being cruelly tortured in front of the farm workers. The raid involved a group of between 30 and 40 people, probably peasants from nearby communities, led by three Shining Path leaders from the area. He was one of the first victims of the PCP-SL considered 'gamonales'.
