On December 6, 1980, there was an assault on the warehouse of the Ministry of Transportation in the city of Puno. This event was one of the first violent actions registered in the department of Puno during the beginning of the internal armed conflict. The assault occurred in the context of the initial actions of the PCP-SL in the southern Andean region of Peru.
