Attack in Desaguadero
Dynamite attack carried out by the PCP-SL in Desaguadero, Chucuito, one of their first military actions in Puno.
On October 23, 1980, the PCP-SL carried out an attack using dynamite in the border town of Desaguadero, province of Chucuito. This was one of the first military actions of the PCP-SL in the department of Puno. The attack included the use of dynamite and robbery on the rails of the Central Railway. This event marked the beginning of the violent actions of the PCP-SL in the southern Andean region of Peru.
