On June 13, 1980, approximately 60 youths of the MOTC (an organism of the PCP-SL) attempted to set fire to the Municipality of San Martin de Porres with Molotov cocktails, marking the beginning of subversive actions in Metropolitan Lima. The attack included the launching of leaflets proclaiming the beginning of the armed struggle of the PCP-SL.
On June 13, 1980, a group of approximately 60 youths belonging to the MOTC (Movimiento de Obreros y Trabajadores Clasistas), an organization created by the PCP-SL in 1976, threw Molotov cocktails at the facilities of the Municipality of San Martin de Porres. This attack marked the beginning of the PCP-SL's subversive actions in Metropolitan Lima, just two weeks after the assault on Chuschi in Ayacucho. The attack occurred immediately after the end of a meeting of the Extended Political Bureau of the PCP-SL in Lima, held between May 19 and June 5, 1980, where a balance of the actions carried out was made and the guerrilla war was prepared. During the attack, leaflets were thrown with slogans of the PCP-SL as a political organization that had been reconstituted and had begun the armed struggle.
