Decrease in the EAP in Ayacucho and Huancavelica between census periods
The EAP in Ayacucho dropped from 154,000 to 131,000 and in Huancavelica from 107,000 to 104,000 between census periods due to the violence.
Between census periods, the economically active population (EAP) in Ayacucho decreased from 154,000 to 131,000 people, and in Huancavelica from 107,000 to 104,000. This decrease was mainly due to the impact of the internal armed conflict in these regions, which were the most affected by violence. The reduction of the EAP brought with it a serious deterioration of the regional economy and generated multiple negative effects on the lives of peasant families.
