SiderPerú workers' strike started in December 1977

SiderPerú workers strike supported by Chimbote social organizations that lasted from December 1977 to January 1978.

The SiderPerú workers' strike, which began on December 6, 1977, was supported by the social organizations of Chimbote, its Bishop and its Mayor. Towards the end of January 1978, in the face of growing social protests and provincial strikes, the government gave in to the workers' demands. The government announced a heavy investment in public works in the province to resolve the conflict.
