Integration of the UPA to the UNSCH
UPA dissolves and integrates into UNSCH, increasing enrollment and forces opposed to PCP-SL
In 1977, after a period of instability, the Universidad Particular de Ayacucho was dissolved and its faculties were integrated into the University of Huamanga. This allowed the UNSCH to increase its enrollment by more than two thousand students, reaching a population of 7,610 students. The UNSCH integrates new specialties such as Law, Economics and Administrative Sciences. This fact also has political importance, since the UPA was hegemonized by Patria Roja and therefore with its integration the group of forces opposed to the PCP-SL was enlarged.
