Land in the hands of peasant movement participants
In 1977, the land of the haciendas seized in 1974 in Andahuaylas was definitively in the hands of the peasants who participated in the land seizure movement, consolidating a de facto agrarian reform.
In 1977, after the 1974 land seizures in the provinces of Andahuaylas and Chincheros, the land was finally in the hands of those who participated in the peasant movement. Of the 118 haciendas in Andahuaylas and Chincheros, 68 were taken simultaneously in 1974. This process was almost similar to what happened in La Convención and Lares at the end of the 1960s and was equally successful. The land seizures were led by the Andahuaylas Provincial Federation of Peasants (FEPCA) and leaders such as Julio César Mezzich, Lino Quintanilla and Félix Loayza.
