Defeat of the FER in FUSCH elections
FUE defeats FER in FUSCH elections and displaces it from university residence hall
On July 17, 1973, the Frente Único de Estudiantes (FUE), formed by the FER Antifascista, the MIR, Vanguardia Revolucionaria, Bandera Roja, Apristas and Christian Democrats, defeated the FER in the elections to renew the board of directors of the FUSCH. In this same context, the forces of the FUE also managed to displace the FER from the university residence after a pitched battle with stones, waracas and sticks that left bruises and broken heads.
