In 1971, the Sociedad Agraria de Interés Social (SAIS) Cahuide, the largest peasant enterprise in the department of Junín and the entire country created by the agrarian reform, recorded revenues valued at 599,077,830 in 1979. This was one of the most profitable years in its history. SAIS employed 'foreign' professionals from the Canipaco area as managers, assistant managers and administrators, who received salaries from cattle sales and dairy production. However, the company could not avoid the effects of the 1976 economic crisis and the contradictions of its organizational structure.
