Abimael Guzman on the Executive Council of the UNSCH

In 1969, after the promulgation of Law 17437, Abimael Guzmán achieved a presence in the Executive Council of the UNSCH and occupied the important positions of Personnel and Student Welfare. The presence of Guzmán and Antonio Díaz Martínez in these positions was not only due to the political strength of the sector that supported them, but also to the prestige that both had earned in the university community. However, the management exercised from these positions was fundamentally partisan.
