MIR ambush at Yahuarina ravine
Ambush by the MIR led by Luis de la Puente Uceda against a police detachment in the Yahuarina ravine in 1965. This action was followed by the dismantling of the Pachacutec Front and the death of De la Puente Uceda in October of the same year.
In 1965, the Revolutionary Left Movement (MIR) led by Luis de la Puente Uceda carried out an ambush against a police detachment in the Yahuarina ravine. This action was part of the second guerrilla moment in the southern Andes, which took place at the beginning of 1965. However, in October of the same year, the Pachacutec Front of Cuzco had been practically dismantled and Luis de la Puente Uceda was killed. In December, the Tupac Amaru Front in the central region of the country was also annihilated and its main leaders also killed.
