Victory of FER in university elections at Universidad San Antonio Abad del Cuzco
In 1962, the Frente Estudiantil Revolucionario (FER) won its first victory in the elections of the Student Federation of the Universidad San Antonio Abad del Cuzco. This victory marked the beginning of its predominance in the university until the end of the 1970s.
The Revolutionary Student Front (FER) won its first electoral victory at the San Antonio Abad del Cuzco University in 1962. This student front was founded in 1960 under the influence of the Cuban revolution and brought together a large number of students from Puno. The FER predominated in the Student Federation until the end of the 1970s, displacing other groups such as the FURI (Frente Universitario Reformista Independiente) that had won between 1959 and 1961, and the FRU (Frente de Reforma Universitaria) led by the aprista youth that predominated between 1946 and 1958.
