Delivery of land titles by the corregidor of Ulloa to Chongos Alto

On November 20, 1817, the autonomous corregidor de Ulloa delivered a land title to the community of Chongos Alto on behalf of Viceroy José Antonio de Manso de Velasco. This colonial document was later used by the community in territorial disputes during the 1980s.

The community of Chongos Alto presented a certified copy from a notary public of Matucana, showing an 1817 title found in his archives. This document evidenced land ownership and was delivered on November 20, 1817 by the autonomous corregidor de Ulloa, acting on behalf of His Majesty Viceroy José Antonio de Manso de Velasco. The community also requested a certified copy of the existence of three parcelizations between Chongos Alto, Chongos Bajo and Yanaolo. This historic title was presented in the context of territorial disputes related to SAIS Cahuide and the former Antapongo hacienda during the 1980s.
