Deployment of Sinchis and Llapan Atic to Ayacucho
In May 1981, the Peruvian government deployed the Sinchis (GC) and Llapan Atic (GR) forces to Ayacucho to combat the Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path (PCP-SL). This marked a significant escalation in the government's efforts to address the growing insurgency in the region.
En mayo de 1981, el gobierno peruano envió a Ayacucho a los sinchis (Guardia Civil) y a los llapan atic (Guardia Republicana) para luchar contra el Partido Comunista del Perú-Sendero Luminoso (PCP-SL). Este despliegue de fuerzas de seguridad fue parte de la respuesta estatal a las actividades del grupo subversivo en la región andina.
