Violence and Its Impact on Mothers and Children in Peru
In 2002, testimonies from various regions in Peru, including Ayacucho and Apurimac, highlighted the severe impact of violence on families. Mothers living in fear and mourning the loss or disappearance of loved ones faced challenges in providing a safe environment for their children. The stress and trauma experienced by these mothers were believed to have contributed to health issues in their children, as illustrated by a mother's account of her child's premature death.
