Castro-Castro Prison Incident
The incident at Castro-Castro Prison involved a violent confrontation between inmates and police forces. Multiple inmates, including María Pupetela Villegas Regalado, Jaime Gilberto Gutiérrez Prado, and Carlos Jesús Aguilar Garay, were killed by gunfire. The police operation resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, with reports of inmates being shot at from a distance and others dying due to lack of medical attention.
Durante un operativo en el Penal de Castro-Castro, la policía disparó incesantemente contra internos ubicados en distintas zonas del penal, causando múltiples muertes. Entre las víctimas fatales se encontraban María Pupetela Villegas Regalado, Jaime Gilberto Gutiérrez Prado, Carlos Jesús Aguilar Garay, Julio César Moreno Núñez, César Augusto Paredes Rodríguez, Fidel Castro Palomino y Marcos Ccallocunto Núñez. Los disparos procedían de policías ubicados en techos y el "mirador" del segundo piso. Algunas internas adultas fueron capturadas, heridas y trasladadas posteriormente al penal de mujeres de Chorrillos.
