Putis Massacre
In 1984, approximately 50 military personnel arrived in the village of Putis, Peru, and ordered the local population to dig a pit under the pretense of creating a water reservoir. Shortly after, the military executed the villagers, suspecting them of being associated with the Shining Path (PCP-SL). This event is part of the broader violence during the internal conflict in Peru.
Múltiple asesinato perpetrado contra pobladores de Putis, identificándose víctimas como Julio Potoceno Centeno, Leocadia Ccente Romero, Pastora Potoceno Centeno, Ernesto Limancca Solier y sus hijos, así como 19 menores de edad. Un sobreviviente logró identificar a los presuntos responsables con seudónimos como el oficial "Lalo", el Teniente "Bareta" y el Comandante "Oscar". La masacre ocurrió cuando una base militar temporal funcionaba en Putis entre abril y diciembre de 1988, según respuesta del Ministerio de Defensa a solicitud de la CVR.
