Sexual Violence by Military Personnel in San José de Secce
In 1987, a woman in San José de Secce, Ayacucho, Peru, reported being sexually assaulted by a military officer in her home. The assault occurred after the officer stayed behind while other soldiers left, and he attacked her in front of her children. Despite the officer admitting to the act, no legal action was taken against him, and the victim did not receive any reparations.
Hacia 1987, una mujer que vendía cerveza y gaseosa en su vivienda de San José de Secce recibió la visita de militares que consumían bebidas como de costumbre. Un oficial militar se quedó dormido en la tienda y, pasada la medianoche, entró al dormitorio donde dormía la testimoniante con sus hijos y la violó sexualmente. Cuando la víctima intentó gritar, el oficial le tapó la boca amenazándola de muerte.
