Prison Massacre in Peru
In early May, a violent incident occurred in a Peruvian prison where inmates were subjected to severe violence by police and military forces. The event involved the use of firearms and tear gas, resulting in numerous injuries and deaths among the prisoners. Despite calls for evacuation and medical assistance, many injured prisoners were left without aid, and several were executed, including members of the PCP-SL central committee.
Durante un operativo penitenciario que incluyó disparos, bombas lacrimógenas y ráfagas de metralletas, fueron asesinados internos en los pabellones 4-B (aproximadamente 400 varones) y 1-A (135 mujeres).
