Massacre of Uchuraccay Refugees
In 1988, a group of displaced individuals from Uchuraccay, who had sought refuge in Ccarhuapampa, were attacked by members of the PCP Sendero Luminoso. Several people were killed in the attack, including Paulina Ccasani Huicho, Fortunato Soto Ccasani, Dionisio Nawpa Gavilán, and Angélica Huachaca Gavilán. The attack is remembered as a brutal event where victims were killed with axes, contributing to the ongoing trauma and displacement experienced by the Uchuraccay community.
