PCP-SL Dynamite Attack in Desaguadero
On October 23, 1980, the Shining Path (PCP-SL) carried out a dynamite attack in the border city of Desaguadero, marking one of their initial military actions. This event was part of the group's broader strategy to establish a presence in the region and mobilize local populations, including teachers, students, and some Aymara peasants. Despite initial efforts, the group struggled to expand its influence among the Aymara communities.
El 23 de octubre de 1983, el Partido Comunista Peruano - Sendero Luminoso (PCP-SL) realizó un atentado dinamitero en Desaguadero, ciudad fronteriza ubicada en Chucuito, Puno. Este acto de violencia fue atribuido a grupos pequeños de izquierda sin representación parlamentaria que buscaban iniciar la lucha revolucionaria. El incidente ocurrió en un contexto de creciente actividad subversiva identificada con el pequeño grupo maoísta denominado PCP-SL.
