Testimony on humiliation and devaluation in detention

Testimony collected in Lima in December 2002 documenting experiences of humiliation and devaluation suffered by victims during the internal armed conflict. The testimony is part of the section of the report that analyzes the attacks on individuals, their families, communities, institutions, values and forms of organization, which in addition to arousing fear and pain, generated feelings of profound humiliation. This testimony is cited in the context of documenting how the mistreatment and torture constituted direct attacks on the personal dignity of the victims.
