The testimonies include accounts of killings, disappearances, torture and sexual violence perpetrated by both the Shining Path and State forces. The statements document cases in various locations in Ayacucho, including Huamanga, Vinchos, Cangallo, La Mar, and other affected communities. The testimonies reveal the devastating impact of the violence on rural communities, including the destruction of social structures, forced displacement, and lasting psychological trauma on victims and their families.
