Testimony on the Accomarca massacre

The CVR conducted focus groups with women and interviews with witnesses of the Accomarca massacre in June 2002, documenting the psychological effects of the violence experienced in this community in Ayacucho.

In June 2002, the TRC conducted focus groups with women in Accomarca, Vilcashuamán, Ayacucho, and took field notes from interviews with witnesses of the Accomarca massacre. Women participants shared testimonies about violence experienced since childhood, describing how exposure to violence had affected them psychologically, manifesting aggression and other traumatic effects. The testimonies collected are part of the TRC's documentation work on the psychosocial impacts of the internal armed conflict on the affected communities.
