The interview addresses the impact of the internal armed conflict on local authority structures and the destructuring of the community. The testimony is part of a larger set of interviews conducted in the area during May 2002, including conversations with other authorities, villagers and teachers from Venenillo and nearby hamlets. The interview documents the consequences of political violence in rural communities in the central Peruvian jungle.
