Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child ratified by Peru
On October 4, 2001, Peru ratified the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict and on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography by Supreme Decree No. 078-2001-RE.
The Peruvian State ratified through Supreme Decree No. 078-2001-RE the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. These protocols specifically refer to the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict, and the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography. The decree was published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on October 6, 2001. This ratification is part of the international human rights legal framework that Peru has incorporated into its legal system.
