Peru accedes to Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court

In 2001, Peru acceded to the Statute of the International Criminal Court (Rome Statute), adopted in 1998. This accession implied recognition of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and acceptance of the international standards on crimes against humanity and war crimes established in the Statute.
