Transfer of pardon review functions to the National Council of Human Rights
By means of Law 27234 of December 15, 2000, the functions and attributions established in Laws 26655 and 26940 were assigned to the National Human Rights Council of the Ministry of Justice. This body continued with the study of pardon requests, proposing the release of 264 innocent persons convicted of terrorism and treason.
