Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties ratified by Peru

Peru ratified the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties by Supreme Decree 029-2000-RE on September 14, 2000. This convention establishes that international obligations must be complied with in good faith and domestic law cannot be invoked for non-compliance.

The Peruvian State ratified the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties through Supreme Decree 029-2000-RE dated September 14, 2000, which was published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on September 21, 2000. This Convention establishes fundamental principles of international law, including articles 27 and 53, which establish that international law obligations must be complied with in good faith and domestic law cannot be invoked for non-compliance. The ratification of this treaty strengthens Peru's international legal framework regarding international treaties and obligations.
