Military mobilization to Putumayo river to prevent FARC invasion

The command of the Fifth Military Region based in Iquitos ordered the mobilization of a new contingent of soldiers and officers to the Putumayo River. The objective of this mobilization was to avoid a possible invasion by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). This action reflects border tensions and concerns about the presence of Colombian armed groups in the area.
