Creation of the Ad-Hoc Commission for Pardons
Creation of Ad-Hoc Commission to review cases of innocent persons convicted of terrorism
On August 17, 1996, Law 26655 created the Ad-Hoc Commission with the task of evaluating, qualifying and proposing to the President of the Republic, on an exceptional basis, the granting of pardon and the exercise of the right of pardon for innocent people convicted of terrorism and treason. This Commission functioned until the year 2000 and thanks to it 452 persons were released under the figure of pardon and 50 under the right of pardon.
