Congress withdraws Armed Forces from drug war after years of corruption

By means of Decree Law No. 824, Congress ordered the definitive withdrawal of the armed forces from the fight against drug trafficking. This decision was taken after years of evidence of the harmful effects of drug trafficking among the military ranks and its corrupting sequel, which contributed to the discredit and erosion of the Peruvian Army.
