Election of Alberto Andrade as Mayor of Lima

Alberto Andrade was elected Mayor of Lima in November 1995, during the period of declining subversive violence after the capture of Abimael Guzman. He was reelected in 1998.

Alberto Andrade was elected Mayor of Lima in November 1995, in a context following the capture of Abimael Guzmán in 1992 and during the period of declining subversive violence in the capital. His election followed Alberto Fujimori's presidential reelection in April 1995. Andrade would later be reelected as Mayor of Lima in October 1998, consolidating his municipal administration in the capital city.
